These foreigners must notify the provincial directorate of immigration within 20 working days of the change of department/faculty/school. If the residence permit is shorter than the study period, it will be extended for the duration of the study period from the date the permit expires. If the student will continue their studies in a different province, the existing residence permit will be terminated by the provincial governor's office of the province where the studies will continue, and a new residence permit will be issued for the duration of the study period.
For initial applications, the provincial immigration directorate issues a residence permit application document to foreigners on their appointment date. For extension applications, the application document is automatically generated by the system. This document must be approved by the provincial immigration directorate. Approved copies of this application document and fee receipts grant individuals the right to multiple exits and entries, provided they return within 15 days of each visit.

A work permit or work permit exemption issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security serves as a residence permit for as long as it is valid. However, work permits issued to foreign nationals with International Protection Applicant, Conditional Refugee, and Temporary Protection status do not substitute for residence permits.
If a work permit or work permit exemption becomes invalid for any reason, the associated residence right terminates. If a foreigner who already holds a valid residence permit in Turkey for reasons other than a work permit or work permit exemption has their work permit or work permit exemption terminated for any reason, this does not invalidate their other residence permit.
If a foreigner holding a work permit meets the conditions for obtaining a student residence permit, they can benefit from the rights granted by both the work permit and the student residence permit.
